Citigroup reshuffles some top management

CHICAGO (MarketWatch) — Citigroup is reshuffling some of its top management, adding new blood and tacking on responsibilities to some current executives, the company said Thursday. In an announcement from Vikram Pandit, Citigroup’s chief executive, the company said that Edward Kelly, currently chief financial officer, will take on more duties for strategy and mergers and acquisitions while also becoming vice chairman. John Gerspach, previously the controller and chief accounting officer, will be the new CFO. Also, Eugene McQuade will join the company as chief executive for Citibank, following a recent stint as vice chairman of Merrill Lynch and president of Merrill Lynch Banks. He was also once president and chief operating officer of Freddie Mac. And Gary Crittenden, chairman of Citi Holdings, will leave the company to “relocate to Utah to devote more time to his family and other business interests,” the company said.
